Alaina Stacey co-founded the Nashville-based Americana group, Maybe April, appearing onstage at the Wilshire Theatre in Los Angeles, alongside Bonnie Raitt, Kris Kristofferson, and The Goo Goo Doll’s Johnny Reznick as part of a GRAMMY week performance called A Song Is Born. Their Audiotree video went viral, and it remains one of Audiotree’s most popular videos. With Maybe April, she opened for Brandy Clark and Sarah Jarosz, performed at Pilgrimage Music Festival, Merlefest, SXSW, CMA Fest, and other festivals, and released an EP and record, The Other Side, which was produced by her brother Julian. The band won “Americana Group of the Year'' two years in a row at the Arkansas Country Music Awards. On her upcoming EP, “DAY,” which is the second in the three-part series EP series, Stacey hones in on active energy, the feeling of walking into broad daylight with a determination to right all of one’s wrongs. Recorded and produced by Evan Redwine in Nashville and Brian Deck in Chicago, Stacey’s EP “DAY” features a bright and sunny sonic outlook, despite many of the songs being drenched in heartbreak and lyrical melancholy. In her latest single, “I Would,” Alaina works with an upbeat and shiny pallet to bring hard truths into the harsh light of day.
Nashville-based artist Madeleine Kelson has been writing and performing music since childhood, developing a unique, country-leaning style of Americana laced with elements of rock and blues. Inspired by artists like Patty Griffin, Jason Isbell, and Brandi Carlile, she’s a dynamic and down-to-earth storyteller, using her own life experiences as fodder for poetic, yet accessible, lyrics. Madeleine has been featured twice on NPR, has viral TikToks featuring her single, The Way I Do, with a combined 1.4 Million+ views. She is featured on Spotify editorial playlists, including Queer As Folk, Emerging Americana, and Fresh Finds Folk. With her April 2022 launch of her debut solo album, While I Was Away, Kelson blends haunting melodies and driving percussion with a particularly human warmth.

For Ernie Hendrickson, the hill country is as much a state of mindas a physical locale, as the deep but beautifully casual songs on hisnew One for the Dreamers eloquently remind us. In the hill countryof Ernie's imagination, the high ground provides an elevated vantagepoint that enables his listeners to perceive how time can leave importantmatters unfinished, or tie up loose ends with sometimes heartbreakingfinality. Yet the hill country is, of course, a real place, and where Erniecomes from. The Wisconsin native grew up in what's called that state'sDriftless Area, where Midwestern flatness gives way to a more roundedlandscape, so it’s natural that that he chose to record One for theDreamers nestled among the neatly arranged hills of Middle Tennessee. Recorded at Lamplight Studios in rural Primm Springs, Tenn., One forthe Dreamers was anchored by producer-drummer Chad Cromwell (NeilYoung, Mark Knoplfer), songwriter-producer-bassist Kevin “Swine”Grantt (Brad Paisley, Jamey Johnson, Willie Nelson), and Pete Wasner(Vince Gill) on piano, organ, and wurlitzer. Special guests includelegendary harmonica player Mickey Raphael (Willie Nelson, GuyClark), pianist Reese Wynans (Stevie Ray Vaughan, Buddy Guy), andrising Americana singer-songwriter Lera Lynn on harmony vocals. There's a concordance of topography and emotion at work in thenew record that comes out of Ernie’s life as a traveling musician andan intuitive record maker—Midwestern openness meets Nashvilleexperience, you could say. Like the great American singers andsongwriters who have inspired him—performers such as Neil Young,Jerry Garcia and Willie Nelson—Ernie seeks the light amidst the ever-present perils of darkness.
My grandmother bought me a $25 guitar in Chicago's Old Town when I was 6 years old. My sister and I would sing and play together and harmonize long, lyrical passages of the songs of Bob Dylan, Joan Baez, and Eric Andersen.I'm a south Chicago native, married to George and raised our two sons on the city’s north side. Sunday church choir is in my practice as is the local open mic scene. I gig around the Chicago area.

“Refreshingly positive and life-affirming” (VICE); a “tour de force” (Mass Appeal); “wild and catchy” (Brooklyn Magazine); “exceedingly unique” (Wild Honey Pie); “fresh and inventive” (All About Jazz); “levitating on a bouncy, cloud of air” (Impose Magazine). More than a decade since their 2009 formation by Miles Francis, EMEFE still holds the title as one of the most exciting live bands to come out of NYC, continually wowing audiences with their mighty horn section and deeply infectious blend of funk, Afrobeat and alt-pop music, and featuring musicians seasoned by years of experience playing alongside Sharon Jones, Antibalas, The Roots, Nile Rodgers and Leon Bridges, to name a few. After countless shows, seven studio releases and a limited edition vinyl pressing of their 2012 classic Good Future (10th Anniversary Reissue), EMEFE has returned to the same studio they had their first rehearsal in eleven years ago - signaling a new era of EMEFE on the horizon.

The Trouble Notes are a Berlin based trio, composed of violinist Bennet Cerven, guitarist Florian Eisenschmidt and percussionist Oliver Maguire. Describing themselves as ‘Indie-Gypsy fusion’, their music is characterised by emotionally driven, instrumental ballads reflecting pan-cultural influences and blending an eclectic fusion of traditions, to create a truly unique sound; representative of their extensive travels and consequent musical development. Their music is defined as ‘music from everywhere for everyone“. The group have achieved success and wide acclaim for past releases, with their previous EP Soundtracks from the Street reaching the Top 5 in USA iTunes charts for Latin & World Music, as well as garnering 60 million+ video views on publications including Grand Masquerade, Gypsy Train and Christoph. Their new single, Lose Your Ties, is an immersive, emotionally charged and thrilling piece of music, encapsulating a melting pot of influences. This track, as with their other releases, deliberately lacks lyrics to allow the listener to create their own vision of what transpires during each song, to allow people from any corner of the world to embark on a cultural and geographical expedition. The Trouble Notes tell us more about the single…“Lose Your Ties is our story. The song is about that little voice that pops into your head while you’re sitting in front of your computer at your desk job. The one that says ‘What are you doing with your life?’ We chose to follow that voice and it took us on this wild journey. Lose Your Ties is the first of many stories we are ready to tell.” Their new album Lose Your Ties, released in February 2018, showcases a development of their expressive, incredibly diverse sound, representing the start of a new, and exciting, musical journey.

The Steepwater Band Set to Release “Re-Turn of the Wheel” on APRIL 29, 2022 ~ It has been two years since the release of TSB’s critically & fan acclaimed record “Turn of the Wheel” which came out at the onset of the Covid-19 pandemic, and was therefore never properly supported with live shows to promote it. April 29, 2022 will see the release of “Re-Turn of the Wheel,” a companion piece to the band’s previous album, featuring eight newly recorded tracks, plus an acoustic version of the title track, all recorded during the pandemic lockdown. Also included on the vinyl & CD editions will be “Make it Right,” a fan favorite from the digital & streaming versions of “Turn of the Wheel” that was left off the original vinyl version due to space limitations. Once again, recording took place at Vigo Street Studios, on the shores of Lake Michigan in Miller Beach, Indiana with Jim Winters (brother of TSB drummer Joe Winters) handling the production and mixing duties. “The band and I feel that TOTW is a very strong album for us, and wanted to find a way to keep the focus on it when touring resumed. So we thought, why not just add to it?” said Joe Winters. Recording began in early 2021, as the band tracked the songs separately in order to adhere to safety protocols, also a first for TSB, who are used to recording basic tracks live in a room while playing together. Additional recording took place at Cruise Control Studios in Fortville, IN (just outside of Indianapolis) with TSB guitarist Eric Saylors engineering his own guitar parts, along with the backing vocals for the project. Jeff Massey, lead vocalist / guitarist for TSB said, “This new collection of songs reflects the intensity of the current times, and the band’s never ending love for creating new music.” He added, “picking up right where we left off on the last record, it only made sense to make this a companion piece to TURN OF THE WHEEL.” Guesting on keyboards again for about half of the album is the band’s old friend Chris Grove, a longtime member of the Eddie Money band. “Re-Turn of the Wheel” will be The Steepwater Band’s eighth full length release, along with two official live albums, and a couple of EPS over the band’s 24 year career. The artwork for the album will be a variation on TOTW, serving as “Side C / Side D” to the original record - with the CD & streaming versions arriving this spring, and the vinyl LP later in the year, due to high vinyl demand causing delays for nearly all artists & labels making records at the moment. Mastering for the project again took place at the legendary Gateway Mastering Studios in Portland, Maine and was completed by Grammy award winning engineer Adam Ayan. “Turn & Re-Turn of the Wheel” might signify the creative bookends to the beginning & ending of uncertain pandemic days that took The Steepwater Band off the road for the first time in nearly two decades, but more importantly, both records amplify the positive message that the music and spirit of TSB is alive and well in 2022. In celebration of the album’s release on the band’s own imprint Diamond Day Records, two CD Release Shows are planned - April 29th at Vegetable Buddies in South Bend, IN and April 30th at Martyrs’ in Chicago, IL. Extensive touring is also being planned in the States & Europe for the remainder of 2022 and all of 2023 in support of both albums. For pre-sale info, release show info and more, be sure to check www.steepwater.com for the latest updates…- “It was not so long ago, down and out and feeling low, but the time has passed, now it’s alright…” – Jeff Massey, The Steepwater Band, 2022The Steepwater Band is – • Jeff Massey – lead vocals / guitars• Eric Saylors – guitars / lap steel / backing vocals• Joe Bishop – bass / backing vocals• Joe Winters – drums / percussion
The Midnight Calls is a denim and leather Rock & Roll outfit from Chicago. The band is fronted by Spain-born singer, Taran de Pablos and features guitarists Adam Arling (The Last Vegas, Urge Overkill, Warrior Soul) and Tony McQuaid (Loudmouth, Frank Bang & the Secret Stash), bassist Sean Barnes and drummer Chuck Harling. Their music is heavily influenced by the blues-infused sounds of classic bands like Aerosmith, The Rolling Stones or AC/DC. With a recipe based on grooves, hooks, and loud guitars as the main ingredients, The Midnight Calls are not reinventing the Rock & Roll wheel, but rather rolling it down the road with the swagger and style that you would expect from road-tested musicians that have toured the US and Europe a few times over.Since their inception in late 2022, The Midnight Calls have released three singles, “Whaddya”, “Coming Up Roses”, and their latest song, “So Cold” which features Chris Grove (Survivor, Joel Hoekstra, Eddie Money) on keyboards. While developing their music in the studio, the band has stayed active, sharing the stage with national acts like The Supersuckers, The Steepwater Band, Faster Pussycat, Blacktop Mojo, or Jason Kane & The Jive amongst others. At the moment, The Midnight Calls are working on material for their first album, to be expected in early 2025, with touring planned following its release.
